Hi!! My name is Trisha Pumphrey. I have been teaching for 13
years. I have taught 1st and 2nd grades, however my heart is in
Kindergarten. This is my10th year teaching Kindergarten at
KMS.
I love to see the progress the students have made since the
beginning of the year. I also love to see the excitement on their
faces when they grasp a new skill. There is absolutely nothing more
rewarding than to have a student hug you and say they love you.
There are no words that can describe that feeling. I truly enjoy my
job and believe there is no other place I would rather be than
teaching young children their first year of school.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family. My
husband, Tony and I have an 8 year-old son named Logan who is in
Mrs.Richter's second grade class this year. We also have another son,
Landon who was born in December. I enjoy shopping, wakeboarding, and
decorating my home. We attend First Assembly of God Church in
Cottondale, FL where we serve as Preschool Sunday School teachers
and Kids' Church leaders. Tony and I were named 2007 West Florida
District Teachers of the Year by the Assemblies of God organization
and were one of the top 6 finalists in the national competition. I was
also named 2009 Kate M. Smith Elementary School's Teacher of the
Year.
I received my Reading Endorsement in May 2007 and my
ESOL certification in September 2008. In the near future, I
plan to begin my masters' degree in early childhood
education.
