This is our Vocabulary Vine. We post all the vocabulary words
we learn from our vocabulary program throughout the year:
On the inside of my door, I have a bag that contains sight words. I ask
different students to tell me the password periodically throughout the day:
Students can earn brownie points throughout the day and work on
filling the pan with brownies. When the pan is full, the class has a
brownie and ice-cream party!!

This is our unit vocabulary wall. We post all of the vocabulary words
learned from our units. The poster changes out and matches the unit:

writing at this special table:

These photos show our "Zippy the Zebra". We feed Zippy when we talk
about the initial sounds in words and feed those words to him. We also have

Hero. He comes to us on the days ending in zero (every 10th
day) and leaves us zero treats and a letter:

My room is in a jungle-theme. Below are some classroom organizational
charts such as discipline, birthday, and literacy centers:
Below are pictures of our class pet, Sable. She is a stuffed tiger who gets to go
home with each child one night each 9 weeks. During the first 9 weeks, the students
dictate to their parents what activities they did with Sable. During the second 9
weeks, they continue dictating and begin circling letters they recognize. During the
third nine weeks, they continue dictating and begin circling sight words they
recognize. During the fourth nine weeks, they assist in writing in the journal:
