Learning to Read is so Sweet!!! |
These are the sight words that our class will be working on this year. I refer to them in class as "snappy words" (words they should know in a snap). |

Please work on these words daily with your child. Work on recognizing them as well as spelling them. Sight words are high-frequency words often seen in print. Many of these words are difficult to sound out and thus require some memorization. Sight word recognition is very important in developing reading fluency--the speed/rate at which your child reads. The better the fluency, the easier it will be for your child to comprehend what has been read.
